It included an orchestra, and sounded much like their studio albums. After the Isolation Tour the guitarist Steve Lukather decided to bring in a second vocalist and keyboardist. They auditioned several musicians, including Fergie Frederiksen, before choosing Joseph Williams.
Toto released Old Is New in 2018 and embarked on a global tour to promote it. They were joined on the tour by touring musicians Lenny Castro, Shannon Forrest, Warren Ham, and Shem von Schroeck.
